AM-199  Monte Cassino 1944 U.S. 36th (Texas) Infantry Division

Italy 1944. There were several attempts to dislodge the Germans from their strong hold around the famous monastery of Monte Cassio. First up, on 20 January the U.S. 36th (Texas) Infantry Division make an assault across the Gari river downstream of Cassino. Next to try, 17 February, the 4th Indian Division and the 28th (Maori) Battalion. Mid-March, it was the turn of 2nd New Zealand Division and the Gurkhas. The final attempt was mid-May, by Polish 3rd and 5th Divisions. Can any of these dislodge the few elite German paratroopers who defended the mountains?

The Germans seized it during their first assault on September 14 and Soviet counterattacks continued with the summit changing hands several times. This scenario represents a combined armor-infantry assault by the Russians to retake this vital position. Expect fierce, merciless fighting in this one.

DM-114  Road Warriors: Vietnam, 1968

The Tet Offensive has exploded across South Vietnam and after initial setbacks and heavy losses, US and ARVN forces are on the counter-attack. A reinforced platoon of American infantry must clear a section of road to open a new route into one of the besieged sectors, but defending that road are tough PAVN regulars. Command grunts, M-113s and M-48s or entrenched North Vietnamese infantry and RPG teams. Home brew rules are on the minimalist side, with relatively few dice rolls.

This scenario represents a German assault against determined Soviet defenders. Flamenwerfers, anyone?

1944 - The Allies attempt to secure key location to exploit weakness in the German lines. At least one company per side, each player commanding up to a platoon depending on how many sign up. This game will be either 20mm or 28mm, depending on some last minute gamemaster decisions. This will be updated closer to the time of MillCon. Battleground WWII rules will be used. It is hoped that players can be sent charts and summary of game mechanics via email in advance. This should help get the game moving quicker at the start.

Next to try, 17 February, the 4th Indian Division and the 28th (Maori) Battalion. Mid-March, it was the turn of 2nd New Zealand Division and the Gurkhas. The final attempt was mid-May, by Polish 3rd and 5th Divisions. Can any of these dislodge the few elite German paratroopers who defended the mountains?
